Read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Kaled Houseini (sp?) Takes place in modern Afghanistan. I knew such conditions existed but find myself not wanting to think about what people must put up with everyday under Sha'ria. That's not religion. That's the most corrupt use of power.
