Short Mississippi River Ride

Went out last Sunday to get some pics. Here are the results:

First, The USS Kidd Veterans Memorial. I went through this ship a couple weeks ago and it is exceptionally well done. The museum just over the levee is also excellent. They concentrate more on the historical rather than the personal for the most part. If you have any interest in WWII this is a neat way to spend a few hours in an afternoon.

From there I headed south and ran into the local university. Given the size of this thing, i'm thinking they take their football seriously.

Then I kept going south and found the Whitecastle Ferry dock. It doesn't run on Sunday, but it was neat anyway, I thought.

Just a nice quiet Sunday afternoon in Louisiana
