Is Connecticut REALLY Kerry Country?

Maybe it's just my end of the state, but the yard signs are running about 8:1 or better Bush:Kerry up here in the Western/Northwestern portion. Also, lots of Bush stickers and magnetic flag/support the troops ribbons on cars.

The conservative base in Northwestern CT seems very energized for this election, even in a locale where I was unaware of an existing conservative base.
