Well. The first debate went off without much fanfare. And about as I expected. W was semi-inarticulate but consistant. Kerry was polished and bombastic but provided nothing but unworkable schemes and Move-On.org style talking points.

The only thing that really struck me was the multi-lateral, summit at all cost, global test bullshit that Kerry kept spewing.

The pundits may be spinning themselves into a froth saying Kerry looked better than W, but I think W will have better commercial material for the rest of the run.
