Westboro Baptist Church Loses Big

***Language Alert***

Here's a link to a FoxNews story about the Westboro Baptist Church, AKA "God Hates Fags" and the lawsuit that they lost for about $11MM to the family of a soldier killed in Iraq. Click here.

The problem with the drive-by media (Thanks Rush) is this: From the article, "Church members believe that U.S. deaths in the war in Iraq are punishment for the nation's tolerance of homosexuality."

That sounds fairly harmless and kinda like a whacko-right-wing position, right?

THAT'S NOT WHAT THESE COCKSUCKERS BELIEVE. THAT IS MERELY WHAT THE MEDIA WILL PRINT ABOUT THEM.

Here is a paraphrase from their website as I have to pull it from memory. (I'm not going to link to it.) Their site seems to be down. Probably excess traffic killed it.

These fuckers expound that all soldiers joined the military because they are stupid or lazy and gay. Therefore, since all soldiers are fags, it is fine that they are killed. Hence the God Hates Fags bullshit. It sounds right wing, but masks a lefty evil the likes of which has not been seen since Jane Fonda.

All their sites seem to be down at the moment. Hopefully they don't come back. If they do, I'll dig up some better, more revealing quotes.

In any case, support you local Patriot Guard chapter. They help keep these protesting assholes away from the grieving families of deceased military members during funeral protests.

It's Sunday, so how about a little local humor...

News story running around down here:

NEWS BRIEF:

New Orleans Saints football practice was delayed nearly 2 hours
after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on
the practice field.

New Orleans Police and Federal Investigators were called to
investigate.

Head coach Sean Payton immediately suspended practice while the
investigation was underway.

After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that
the white substance unknown to the players, was the goal line.

Practice resumed after special agents decided that the team was
unlikely to encounter the substance again.

And another:

A seven-year old boy was at the center of an Orleans Parish courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the New Orleans Saints, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

In New York..

Up North in New York for a friend's wedding. Flew into LaGuardia and got a rental car to get to the New Rochelle Radisson. Not bad, I guess. A bit pricey for what it is, though.

Anyhoo, we went to City Island for dinner. There were many choices but we settled on the Crab Shanty. (No relation to the Crab Shack, take my word for it.)

Here are some pics of dinner. I had a Scungilli and Calamari salad. It was effectively a huge plate of seviche. It was fantastic, though I couldn't finish it all as I'm just getting over a spectacular bout of food poisoning from yesterday.

Mrs. Evil had the King Crab. Also very good and a huge portion for the price.
