Dinner. Finally.

Atlanta Marriott Downtown

Just wondering.

Do pilots get paid before they push away from the gate?

Mutha-F-------

No sooner did we push back from the gate did the pilot announce that Atlanta is in ground stop to help clear some of their backlog. New announcement is 32 more minutes delay.

Feh.

Finally

2.75 hours late thanks to atlanta.

Figures.

Since September of 2007, I have ridden back and forth to Atlanta eight times. That's about 9500 miles with only one significant mechanical or other type of issue. (Last July when the throttle body shaft on the Buell broke.)

Well, I'm flying this time because the mileage cost is significantly greater than the airline ticket and in this economy, for my company, every dollar counts.

What does it look like? Currently Atlanta is running a ground stop. Spectacular. My flight, AirTran 465, by the way, (And somehow I ended up getting upgraded to first class....? seat 1D. I checked in seconds after the window opened up online to ensure I got that seat.) is currently shown as on time, but the two prior are showing delayed. Wonderful.

If I get screwed in an airport by the weather, I'm riding the last two no matter what the bean-counters say.

A few pictures from the ride today.

Went out with a photographer friend so he could get used to shooting bikes. Here are a few samples.

Fired the Holo-sight

Got it sighted in. It also needed quite a bit of up. Not bad though. Given that I'm hand-holding a 5.5 pound revolver at arms length to fire it, the accuracy is not really much better than with the iron sights, but it is much quicker to re-acquire the target.

I put about 40 more 300gr rounds through it and fired off 7 of the 500gr rounds. Those will get your attention. Still very controllable, but at that loading, you know you're firing something ridiculous. The 700gr slugs must just be colossal.

Cast your vote for Clint

(Not Change...)

Clinton Heckner, that is. Click on this link and scroll down. Look for the poll on the right side of the screen. Vote for Clinton Heckner. (He's a friend of mine's son.)

Thanks!

Celebrating the election....

In Second Amendment style:

Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum 10.5" barrel with EOTech 512 holographic sight.

Obama/Pelosi can have this one when they pry it from my cold dead hands. (Now where have I heard that before?)

Well, I guess the media's happy...

So, now onto more pressing business...

Which skyscraper are we going to lose next? Empire State Building? Maybe the Sears Tower?

Let's absolutely back out of the middle east like a whipped puppy and see how the lunatics react. I'm sure they'll just go on about their genocide and leave us alone....

A remarkable and timely article that could only come from Outside the US

A snippet:

"Short of introducing the death penalty for using the N-word and dancing on the grave of General Robert E.Lee, what more can white Americans do to prove that the United States has finally become the land of equal opportunity?"

Also stopped by HDBR to visit the Uly in lockup...

This is a phenomenal looking piece. (Although, at just over $30k, it's a little pricey.)

Stopped by the BMW dealer to get a coffee yesterday...

(Not a Latte, mind you)

There was an interesting set of vehicles there to say the least.

I thought it was a pretty cool juxtaposition of my bike's technological advancement and all-around utility.

St. Augustine grass probably should be edged more often than once every 22 years.

Did my best Marquis de Sod impression today and uncovered about 100 additional square feet of driveway that I didn't know I had.

Public Service Announcement

If it was up your ass, you'd know.

Click Here to read the most hilarious telling of an inaugural colonoscopy ever.

Seriously one of the best advertisements for this procedure I've ever run across.

(Mild profanity and some spectacular scatological humor.)
